Gift Guide for Tesla and EV Owners

Gifts for EV drivers go wrong in predictable ways: the wrong connector, the wrong model year, or a charger the garage can't support. These picks are categories rather than single listings, each with what to check before you buy.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Links open an Amazon search, where Amazon shows current prices, availability and reviews. Budget bands are rough tiers, not prices.

Stocking stuffers

Small, practical extras.

  • Digital tire pressure gauge

A small, practical extra for checking tire pressures against the door-jamb placard between service visits.

Before you buy: Digital gauges need a battery; check how it's powered and the pressure range it reads.

  • Microfiber cloths for screens and glass

For wiping fingerprints off a large center touchscreen and the inside of a glass roof.

Before you buy: Use only the cleaners the owner's manual allows on the touchscreen.

  • EV Charger Cable Organizer (Wall Mount)

Keeps the charging cable coiled and off the garage floor.

Before you buy: Make sure the holster fits the car's connector (J1772 or NACS) and the wall it will mount on.

  • MagSafe Car Phone Mount for EV

Keeps a phone in view when the car's own screen is busy with navigation or media.

Before you buy: Check the phone supports MagSafe (or add a magnetic ring) and where the mount attaches; some EV dashboards and vents don't suit clip mounts.

  • Collapsible trunk or frunk organizer

Keeps charging cables, groceries and emergency gear from sliding around the trunk or front trunk.

Before you buy: Measure first: trunk and frunk sizes vary a lot between models and model years.

Mid-range gifts

Useful upgrades for everyday driving.

  • Portable Car Vacuum (Cordless)

A cordless, rechargeable vacuum for crumbs and grit, with no need for a 12V outlet.

Before you buy: Compare how it charges and which attachments are included.

  • Portable tire inflator

Tops up tire pressure at home or on a trip without looking for an air pump.

Before you buy: Check its maximum pressure and valve connector against the car's recommended pressures, and how it recharges.

  • 12V lithium jump starter

If an EV's small 12V battery runs down, the car may not wake up or unlock. A jump pack is a backup for that battery only.

Before you buy: Read the owner's manual for the jump-start points and procedure first; some automakers limit how the 12V system can be jumped.

  • All-weather floor liners

Raised-edge liners that keep snow, mud and spills off the carpet.

Before you buy: Fitment: buy for the exact make, model, model year and seat layout. Liners for a Tesla Model Y, for example, are listed separately for the 2025 refresh and earlier cars.

  • Matte screen protector for the center display

A matte film that cuts glare and fingerprints on a large touchscreen.

Before you buy: Fitment: screens and bezels can change between model years. Match the exact model, model year and screen size.

    Search on Amazon
  • Glass roof sunshade

A fitted shade for cars with a large glass roof.

Before you buy: Fitment: shades are cut for a specific roof. Match the make, model and model year; refreshed models can use a different roof.

  • Dash cam with parking mode

Records while driving and, with suitable power, while parked.

Before you buy: Parking mode needs power while the car is off, and many EVs switch off their outlets when locked. Check how the camera is powered (its own battery or a hardwire kit) and any warranty implications. Some cars have a built-in camera recorder that only needs a USB drive.

  • Tesla-to-J1772 Level 2 (AC) adapter

Lets a car with a J1772 or CCS1 port charge at Tesla Wall Connectors and Destination chargers.

Before you buy: Level 2 (AC) only. For Supercharger (DC) fast charging, automakers say to use only their own approved adapter; see our NACS adapter checker. Check the adapter's current rating.

Big-ticket gifts

Larger purchases worth agreeing on with the driver first.

  • Level 2 home charger

A 240V wall charger, hardwired or plug-in, for overnight charging at home.

Before you buy: Match the connector (J1772 or NACS) to the car, and have a licensed electrician confirm the circuit and installation before buying. A charger's continuous current should be no more than 80% of the circuit rating, so a 48 A charger needs a 60 A circuit.

  • Portable Level 1/Level 2 charging cable

A travel or backup charging cable that plugs into a household or 240V outlet.

Before you buy: Check the plug type (household 120V or a 240V outlet such as NEMA 14-50) and the connector. Have an electrician check any 240V outlet it will use regularly.

  • Portable power station (LiFePO4)

A rechargeable battery with AC and USB outlets for camping, tailgates and power cuts.

Before you buy: Compare capacity (Wh), outlets and how it recharges. It is not a substitute for a home charger.

How we picked

  • We chose gear that solves everyday EV ownership chores: charging at home, keeping tires and the 12V battery healthy, and keeping the cabin and screen clean.
  • Links open Amazon searches by spec, not a single listing, so you compare current options, prices and reviews yourself.
  • We have not tested these products hands-on for this guide, and we make no claims about how any listing performs.
  • Anything that depends on the car (floor liners, sunshades, screen protectors, adapters) carries a fitment note. Match the exact make, model and model year.
  • Charging equipment needs an electrician's check. We left out anything that encourages DIY electrical work.
